Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead Preview and Fantasy NASCAR Predictions

posted on November 18, 2016
Four men. One title. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series enters its final race weekend at Homestead-Miami with the Championship 4 taking center stage, four drivers who are each aiming for their own slice of history.   In Joey Logano’s case, he’s hoping that the old adage “you have to lose a championship before you can win one” rings true. Logano was one of the original Championship 4 drivers back in 2014, emerging as the main foe of Kevin Harvick before a late pit stop derailed...

HE WROTE THE BOOK  We all know Jeff Gordon as a four-time NASCAR champion with 93 Sprint Cup wins, but history could have been much different, as we learn in the official biography Jeff Gordon: His Dream, Drive & Destiny, which goes on sale next week. From considering a future in competitive waterskiing to encountering legalities that required a form of emancipation to race before he had a driver’s license, Gordon faced obstacles before becoming the driving force behind NASCAR’s 1990s boom. The book details nearly every bit of Gordon’s trip from a too-young quarter midget driver to his much-celebrated 2015 full-time retirement. Interviews with the likes of former car owner Bill Davis and even Gordon’s birth father shed a humanizing light on Gordon’s success, while tidbits such as a young Gordon being told by major open wheel stars to put his focus on stock cars shed new light on Gordon’s well-known journey to the top of NASCAR. Self-published by Jeff Gordon Inc. and co-authored by Joe Garner, the book arrives on Nov. 22.

Logano joins Championship 4 with Phoenix victory

posted on November 15, 2016
A splash of the unexpected Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway gave Joey Logano the opening he needed to find some retribution for how last year’s championship battle ended for the Team Penske driver. Meanwhile, Matt Kenseth — the driver who dug the grave of Logano’s 2015 title hopes with an intentional crash — walked away from the Can-Am 500 with a bitter taste.Logano drove to the victory at Phoenix after Kenseth crashed during the first attempt at overtime.“The guys did everything perfect (Sunday) — it’s the best car I’ve had at Phoenix probably ever,” Kenseth said after it all ended. “They had good pit stops today and we were competitive. We all as a group did the job that we needed to do to be in position to win that thing. It’s unfortunate the way it worked out.”

Can-Am 500 at Phoenix Preview and Fantasy NASCAR Predictions

posted on November 12, 2016
No one has dominated a racetrack the past few years the way Kevin Harvick has staked his claim on Phoenix International Raceway. His finishes there since the fall of 2013 read as follows: 1st. 1st. 1st. 1st. 2nd. 1st. If not for last year’s bizarre ending, a rain-shortened event that found Dale Earnhardt Jr. sitting in the right place at the right time, we’d be talking about six straight victories.   Can Harvick make it seven?   That’s the big question mark as NASCAR...
